Curriculum
The curriculum of the TIS is integration of Islamic and Modern Scientific Education and the medium of instruction is English. Our vision and the students’ experiences at The Intellectuals School define our goals. We strongly believe that education is the basic right of every child and every student deserves a high quality education with an accessible and innovative curriculum on affordable cost. We also acknowledge that education should enhance students’ abilities and explore hidden talents. For this purpose we offer a concrete knowledge and skills based curriculum structure which shares some common aims and objectives with the UK national curriculum. Our curriculum builds a comprehensive foundation for the future learning and decision making. The curriculum is spiral in nature, i.e. the same concepts and skills are taught at various times across the different classes, but with increasing levels of complexity and sophistication as we move to higher classes.
The Curriculum comprises of the following categories:-
Modern Scientific EducationBooks from Oxford Series are taught in school. This includes English, Urdu, Mathematics, General Science, Social Studies, Computer, and Arts & Crafts
Islamic Education
It includes Quran (Nazra, Tajveed, Qir’at, Hifz of selected Surahs), Hadith, Islamic History, Supplications, Moral Values, Ethics, Mannerism and Arabic Language.
Montessori Education
TIS is affiliated with Australian Montessori Council (AMC). Montessori style of education is imparted in true spirits on Pre-School Level. A wide range of materials and activities are available to stimulate the child's interest through self-directed activities. Following areas are covered while educating the child:-
- Practical life
- Sensorial
- Math
- Language
- Culture
While teaching the pre-school students the following aspects are taken under deep consideration:-
- Personal and Social Development
- Physical and Emotional Development
- Languages Literacy and Communication
- Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Imaginatiive and Creative Development (Drawing/Art/ Craft)
- Innovation in Curriculum through Technology/Montessori Apparatus/Story Telling etc
Montessori qualified teachers are available at the school to educate the students in most effective manners. Classrooms of pre-school students are designed and decorated in such a thematic manner which allow them for both individual and social development
Moreover, to enrich the curriculum and boost the students’ interest and skills worksheets, projects, summer packs, technology and audio visual ads are also mandatory part of the curriculum. 5>
